Summary of changes made on November 15, 2021
- We deleted information related to the COVID-19 exposure notification system because use of that system in the Application was discontinued.
Summary of changes made on June 15, 2021
- We expanded disclosures to allow the inclusion of vaccination status information into the Application in addition to testing records.
- We added a disclosure to indicate the use of the iCard photograph in the Application.
- We deleted information related to the color coding used in the application because it is a functional component of the Application.
Summary of changes made on February 22, 2021
- We expanded the disclosure relating to use of camera and file storage as follows: The Application may access and use data via your device’s camera. The purpose of this use of the camera is to scan your encrypted Quick Response (QR) key from another device. The Application may access and use data in the form of photos, videos or files, and may read data from and write data to external storage. The purpose of the access to photos, videos, and files is to save and load your QR key.
Summary of changes made on February 10, 2021
- We added a disclosure that the Application uses your camera and reads and writes to file storage in order to save and read your encrypted Quick Response (QR) key in your photo library. The QR key allows you to transfer your information to a new or replacement mobile device.
Summary of changes made on October 19, 2020
- We added a disclosure indicating that some of the PII the Application uses is collected from University information systems and reiterated that the Application collects PII from your healthcare provider.
- We added a disclosure that the personally identifiable information (PII) the Safer Illinois application collects is used to establish and display your building access status, to determine your testing frequency, and to facilitate exposure notifications.
- We expanded the disclosure relating to non-PII by indicating it may be used for statistical analysis related to use of the Application and for research related to the COVID-19 pandemic subject to applicable law and University policy.
- We added a disclosure that your University identification number (UIN) and building access status is shared with the University’s alternative building access application (Boarding Pass) to support consistent and efficient building access.
- We deleted information pertaining to University affiliated users because only people with University identification numbers (UINs) are able to use the personalized portions of the application.
- We made minor word and grammar changes for clarity.
