Jan'et Scott
Assistant Director, Local & State Relations
Jan’et Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois Springfield. With a strong foundation in public service, she began her career as a Legislative Assistant for the Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus from 2016 to 2020 where she played a key role in supporting legislative initiatives.
Following this, she served as a Legislative Liaison at the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) for a year and a half where she facilitated communication between the agency and members of the Illinois General Assembly. In 2022, she took the role of Director of Scheduling for Governor JB Pritzker, overseeing the Governor’s calendar and coordinating important engagements until 2024.
Currently, Jan’et is the Assistant Director of Local and State Relations at the University of Illinois System, where she focuses on building and maintaining relationships with elected officials and key stakeholders and advocates for the university’s interests at the local and state levels.
Jan’et is passionate about public policy and community engagement, and she is committed to fostering positive relationships that support the mission of the University of Illinois System.
