Board of Managers

Illinois Global Gateway LLC is governed by the Board of Managers. The Board of Managers consists of three individuals:

  • Two members appointed by the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois; and
  • A designee of the Chancellor of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Currently the following individuals make up the the Board:

Chair - Wojtek Chodzko-Zajko – Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean, Graduate College, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Vice Chair  - Bryan S. Traubert – Trustee, University of Illinois Board of Trustees

W. Brooke Elliott - Josef and Margot Lakonishok Professor and Dean, Gies College of Business, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Additional Officers:

Secretary – Kraig Wagenecht, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Treasurer – Paul Ellinger, VP/Comptroller, University of Illinois System

Mission Statement

The purpose of Illinois Global Gateway LLC is to establish and to maintain physical presences in strategic locations throughout the world to pursue any one or more of the following objectives:

  1. to encourage and facilitate research and development and commercialization of the intellectual assets of the University of Illinois
  2. to foster economic growth and improve the state's economy;
  3. to further the education of students of the University of Illinois;
  4. to strengthen ties with University of Illinois alumni; and
  5. to engage in such other activities as the Board of Managers of the Company may determine for the promotion of scientific research, the educational and public service missions of the University of Illinois, and the economic development of the state of Illinois.

The organization and purpose of Illinois Global Gateway shall be in accordance with the powers and authority granted to the sole member of the Company, the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois, a body corporate and politic of the State of Illinois, established pursuant to the University of Illinois Act (110 ILCS 305/1 et seq.), and in support of the public education policies and programs of the University.
